Coffee Shop at Harbour Bay Batam

Harbour Bay Downtown is more than a ferry terminal. It is also one of the easiest places in Batam to find a good coffee shop and a quick bite.

Just arrived from Singapore or Malaysia? Waiting for your ferry? Here is where to go. Each spot comes with a note on what it is best for. Start inside the terminal building. Then explore the area outside.

Coffee Shops Inside Bayfront Mall

Bayfront Mall is the ferry terminal building itself. That makes it the easiest place to get coffee right after you arrive or while you wait for your ferry. It is also handy when you need air conditioning and a quiet place to sit.

Starbucks Coffee

Starbucks sits right in front of the arrival gate. Just landed and need coffee? This is your closest stop. It is a great pick for working from a cafe (WFC). The wifi is strong and there are plenty of seats. On weekdays it fills up with people who come to work.

Kopi Kenangan

Walk a little further from Starbucks and you will find Kopi Kenangan. It is a local favorite for a quick coffee to go before you head out again. It is also WFC friendly. There are a few seats for chatting or relaxing.

Excelso Cafe

Excelso is in the same row as Starbucks and Kopi Kenangan. It is WFC friendly too. The setting is comfortable and made for a long dine-in. Choose it for a relaxed meeting or a long catch-up.

Shelter Coffee

Shelter Coffee has a relaxed and more personal vibe. You will find it across from Watsons. The space is small. That is why it suits you best if you want some me time. It is ideal for a solo coffee break.

Kaya Toast

The cafes above are modern coffee shops. Want a classic kopitiam experience instead? Head to Kaya Toast. Enjoy your coffee with a plate of kaya toast. It is a light breakfast before a full day out.

Roti O

Roti O is right in front of the seats in the domestic waiting area. Its fragrant bread catches the eye of passersby. Coffee is also on the menu. A few seats are available if you want to eat in.

Morning Bakery

Morning Bakery also has a spot on the 2nd floor. It is a good place to relax after you collect your ticket at the ferry counter. It gets a little busy from morning to late morning. It is best if you are not rushing to catch your ferry.

Coffee Shops Outside Bayfront Mall

The area outside Bayfront Mall has a relaxed and open-air feel. It offers a few solid picks for coffee and casual eats near Harbour Bay Ferry Terminal.

Morning Bakery

This branch of Morning Bakery is outside the terminal. Morning Bakery is one of Batam’s iconic bakeries. You will find this one at the junction near Indomaret. It is a short walk from Swiss-Belhotel Harbour Bay and Yello Hotel Harbour Bay.

The menu is wide. Choose from many kinds of bread and pastries. Pair them with coffee or teh tarik. Want a heavier breakfast? Try the kwetiau or nasi goreng. It is busy in the morning. Tourists come here for breakfast. So do the locals.

Maulana Martabak

Maulana Martabak & Nasi Kandar is a good stop for coffee with something filling. It serves martabak and prata with Malay flavors. Order a few dishes and share them. It works best for a group hangout. You will find it across from M-One Hotel Harbour Bay.

Baik Black Coffee

Baik Black Coffee is a work from cafe (WFC) friendly spot. It is easy to find around Harbour Bay. It is also the closest cafe if you leave through the exit near Marriott Hotel. It is open from 8 AM to 11.30 PM. Mornings and afternoons work well. Nights are even better. The vibe is relaxed. It is popular with young locals who come to hang out.

There are two seating areas. The indoor area is small with limited seats. The outdoor area has far more choices. The staff are friendly from the waiters to the cashier. Service is fast. Parking is wide and close by.

Which Coffee Spot Should You Pick?

Harbour Bay Downtown has a coffee spot for every mood. All of them are close to the ferry terminal.
